Karina Wetherbee has
been a photographer for 20 years, having undertaken numerous
photography assignments throughout her career. Such pursuits
have included: representing the National Repertory Orchestra
as the Official Photographer on the orchestra’s tour to the
1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea, as well as other
parts of the Pacific Rim; Official Photographer for Concerto
Soloists of Philadelphia on a 1989 tour to Europe; and Official
Photographer for the 1990 Fitness Convention of IDEA (International
Dance and Exercise Association), in Washington, D.C.
Honors and awards include: 2nd place and Honorable Mention– Associated
Photographers International (API) contests; three time
finalist–Photographer’s Forum Photo contests;
and winner in category in a National printing competition
with the entry of Photo Brilliance card, “Maple Leaf
Rag.” The card was on display at the USA Today building
in Rosslyn, Virginia.

Karina and her husband, Charles
Wetherbee, presented a combined show
and recital in 1991 at Fountain Valley School in Colorado
Springs, Colorado. Her Photography has been on display
in the concert hall of the Snake
River Music Festival, since 1998.
Karina has done extensive portrait work, for families and
individuals. Her real passion lies in recording the beauty
of her natural surroundings.
In addition to her work as a photographer, Karina published
her first book in 2004. It is a memoir of her father’s childhood
in World War II, The Minefield of Memories. |
